Duane Adams, Community Pastor

Over the past 20 years Duane has served in various areas of ministry in North Central WV. After joining the staff at Horizons Church in 2001 Duane became a licensed minister through the Independent Assemblies of God International. He served the first 4 years as Worship Pastor and assumed the role of Community Pastor in 2005. He’s always had a desire to help people grow and succeed and believes that his current role as Community Pastor will provide many opportunities for him to help people explore their potential in God and to find their place in ministry.

Prior to joining the team at Horizons, Duane was a building contractor and had spent most of his life as a carpenter. He'd never imagined that he would one day be a pastor, but through a series of circumstances found himself on staff at Horizons Church. Looking back Duane sees that God worked through various circumstances to get him where he is today.

Duane and his wife Teresa live in Quiet Dell WV and have three adult children, Ashley, Tiffany, and Joshua. They have 2 grandchildren, Eladio and Isaiah.

Duane's interests include cycling, guitar, graphic design, singing, and fixing stuff. Teresa enjoys NASCAR racing, collecting, managing her online business, and her two cats. Together they enjoy traveling, camping, gardening, concerts, and each other. :-)

To be a man of integrity living in authentic relationship with God and others, always open to growth and change. Loving and serving my wife, family and others for their good and God’s purposes. To give out hope and encouragement like it was candy in my pocket and to use my life in a way that honors God and brings Him pleasure.
